Purchased on TV April 14, 2009. Everything was perfect. Then, in May '10, after a night out, there are two horizontal fields on the other, the center of the screen when you start up. Two weeks later and now that the boxes for about 2 minutes. The boxes are transparent and causes a series of lines on the top and bottom of both boxes. If the text in the middle of the ghost of the screen can be seen. It is not a connection problem, because I observed a different Samsung next to it andthat there is no television. Samsung is good for six weeks out of warranty. I call them tomorrow to see what is to solve this. I will post the results.
UPDATE June 11, 2010. Called Samsung and then asked me to see if the ghost occurs on-screen menus. The problem will not occur again until four days later, and yes, it fell on the menu screen. Called back and said I'm 30-day "grace period" and I pay for the upgrade. TheRachel operator said he could not do anything because their computers do not allow this and that I wrote a letter to the company's headquarters in Arlington NJ. Letter June 11.
14th June … The ghosting is worse and still have the screen more than 10 minutes. Definitely out of control, and progressively worse. The TV has less than 700 hours on it. You can read about the problems for googling. Looks like a fix ?????? $ 1,000
21st June …Samsung called headquarters. Warranty repair approval. He gave me a local company to repair call (so-called same day). Samsung has been courteous, fast, and seemed sincere. Said they would repair and extend the warranty. I do not know how long the extension.
24th June … Sterling Electronics, Inc has raised the LCD repair.
30th June … LCD TV delievered the TV at my house. They said the panel was replaced. I asked for a receipt to show me what was specified. Waiting.Everything seems in order. I hope this does not happen again in 13 months.

Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?

With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience.
